VIDEOFOCUS 9th EDITION: SUBMISSION CLOSED

Submissions for the Stigmart10 Videofocus 9th Edition are now closed. Many thanks to everyone who submitted their film. The response to this year’s call for submissions has been amazing and we have received a very interesting and diverse mix of films: more than 4000 submissions from all over the world. All filmmakers will be notified as to the status of their selection acceptance before December 30, 2014.

Whether it falls under the heading of artfilm or experimental movie, you are invited to submit your work to the VIDEOFOCUS 9th- The state of The (Video) Art - our special Stigmart issue focused on video.
The selection will be proceded by our team and will cover worldwide productions and various formats and media. It is possible to tender up to 3 works.

For eight editions Stigmart10 has been building a cultural bridge between art forms, focusing on avant-garde cinema and videoart: Videofocus
is the place where the energy of both worlds meets. Celebrating the 8th
edition of Videofocus, we are pleased to announce our Biennial incoming
issue. Thanks to all the applicants. The selection process has been
really hard with more than 3200 submission from all over the world, but
at the end we came with a selection of 24 artists, divided in three
groups, Experimental cinema and videoart, fashion and documentary.
Further details will be forthcoming in the coming weeks. The three issues will be published in October and mid-November.
VIDEOFOCUS IN VENICE: THE BIENNALE COLLEGE
We have been pleased to participate to the premiere of his last creation, Nature and Origin of the Mind, during the 54th Venice Biennale. The primary goal of Biennale College has been to offer young artists and filmmakers an innovative platform, as well as the opportunity to work with awarded Masters.
A conception of art based on a dynamic dialogue between artists and audience which Stigmart10 has encouraged since its foundation. Greetings, Romeo!

Due to the advent of technologies like DSLR, BMCC and Digital Bolex and microbudget cinecameras, in the last decade it came a true revolution in the videoart field. The fusion of two worlds, videoart and experimental cinema, is attested by the increasing number of videoartists cooperating with filmmakers in the last decade, though this synergy is not limited to the improvement of the overall quality in mainstream cinema terms, but shows the
great potential of a new generation of video artists able to renew the cinematographic language.
